Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter

Cacao Butter

Cacao Butter is a solid butter for skin that feels stripped after cleansing.

  • Holds moisture: its oleic and stearic acids form a layer that slows how fast skin loses water.
  • Feeds instead of coating: its fatty acids sit close to your skin's own lipids, so it settles in.
  • Supports your skin barrier: phytosterols help strengthen skin that has gone thin and reactive.

Cacao Butter

Why we use it

Cacao butter is the fat pressed from the cacao seed, the same thing that gives chocolate its melt. On skin that melting point matters: it turns to oil on contact and forms a layer that slows how fast you lose water, which is why it holds through the night rather than wearing off in an hour. Its fatty acids sit close to your skin's own lipids, so it settles in instead of coating, and its phytosterols help skin that has gone thin and reactive feel resilient again. Pre-Hispanic Mexico used manteca de cacao on skin worn down by dry air and sun.
